Medical-Grade Microneedling
SkinPen® Precision is a professional microneedling device designed to create controlled microchannels in the skin and support natural collagen remodeling.
Infection Prevention & Safety
Each treatment uses a new, sterile needle cartridge. SkinPen® also incorporates a protective BioSheath to help reduce the risk of fluid contamination during treatment.
Precision for Different Skin Areas
Adjustable needle depths allow your clinician to tailor treatment to your skin condition, treatment area, and individual needs.
No Radiofrequency Heat
SkinPen® uses mechanical microneedling without RF energy. It may be suitable for a range of skin tones, including darker complexions, following an individual skin assessment.
Collagen Induction
SkinPen® creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin, activating its natural repair response and supporting collagen remodeling. This process occurs gradually over the following weeks and months.
During Treatment
SkinPen® uses fine, sterile needles to create precise microchannels in the skin, initiating the body’s natural wound-healing response.
Early Healing Phase
The skin begins repairing the treated areas through a coordinated healing response involving cellular activity and tissue regeneration.
Following Weeks & Months
Fibroblasts support the production and remodeling of collagen and other structural components, which may gradually improve skin texture and the appearance of acne scars.
Results Develop Over Time
As remodeling continues, treated skin may appear smoother and more even. Improvements vary depending on skin condition, treatment depth, and number of sessions.

Skin Concerns
Facial acne scars are a key focus of SkinPen® Precision treatment. Depending on your skin assessment, microneedling may also improve the appearance of uneven texture, superficial fine lines, and enlarged-looking pores. Your provider will help you set realistic goals for your skin.
SkinPen® may soften the appearance of depressed facial acne scars by supporting collagen remodeling, helping scarred skin look smoother over time.
Microneedling may improve rough or uneven-looking texture as the skin repairs and remodels, supporting a smoother, more even-looking complexion.
Collagen remodeling may soften the appearance of shallow lines, helping skin look smoother as improvements develop gradually after treatment.
Improvements in surrounding skin texture may make enlarged-looking pores less noticeable, creating a more refined-looking skin surface.
Your provider will assess your skin, scar type, and any active breakouts before recommending treatment. Results vary, develop gradually, and may require multiple sessions. Microneedling does not remove pores, and deeper wrinkles or significant skin laxity may need a different approach.
Treatment Comparison
Both treatments stimulate collagen remodeling but use different technologies. At Parsa Wellness, we offer SkinPen® Precision for classic microneedling and VoluDerm™ for RF microneedling. Understanding their differences can help you choose the right treatment for your skin concerns.
| Treatment Feature | Classic Microneedling (SkinPen®) | RF Microneedling (VoluDerm™) |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Mechanical microneedling using fine, sterile needles. | Radiofrequency energy delivered through needle-like electrodes. |

| Skin Tones | May be suitable for a wide range of skin tones following assessment. | May be suitable for different skin tones, but RF settings and pigmentation risks require careful assessment. |
| Treatment Sensation | Prickling, vibration, or pressure; topical numbing may be used. | Warmth, pressure, and prickling; topical numbing may be used. |
| Recovery | Redness, warmth, and sensitivity commonly improve within several days. | Redness, swelling, and sensitivity may occur; recovery depends on treatment intensity. |

Clinical Directives
Proper preparation and aftercare help minimize irritation, support skin recovery, and reduce the risk of complications. Follow your clinician’s personalized instructions.
Inform your provider about medications, including isotretinoin, blood thinners, and prescription skincare. Avoid retinoids and strong exfoliating acids for 3–5 days beforehand if advised. Do not stop prescribed medications without medical guidance.
Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure before treatment. Please contact us if you develop sunburn, active acne inflammation, cold sores, a rash, or a skin infection in the treatment area.
Avoid heavy makeup, self-tanner, and irritating skincare products on treatment day. Your clinician will cleanse and prepare your skin before microneedling.
For the first 24 hours, avoid makeup and unnecessary touching of treated skin. Use only skincare products approved by your clinician and follow the recommended cleansing instructions.
Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and swimming for approximately 24–48 hours or as directed. Avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other irritating products until your skin has recovered.
Avoid direct sun exposure while your skin heals. Follow your provider’s instructions on when to resume sunscreen, then use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily. Do not pick or exfoliate peeling skin.
Mild redness, warmth, swelling, and sensitivity are expected. Please contact us if you experience worsening redness, increasing pain, pus, blistering, fever, or symptoms that do not improve as expected.
SkinPen® microneedling is one of several treatments available at Parsa Wellness. Depending on your skin concerns, your provider may recommend alternative or complementary treatments to address texture, pigmentation, acne scars, or mild skin laxity.
Platelet-Rich Plasma
PRP uses concentrated platelets obtained from your own blood. It may be considered alongside certain skin rejuvenation procedures following an individual assessment. Evidence for additional benefits when combined with microneedling remains variable.
VoluDerm™ Technology
RF microneedling combines microchannel formation with radiofrequency energy. It may be considered for acne scars, uneven texture, fine lines, and mild skin laxity.
Professional Skin Exfoliation
Chemical peels use selected exfoliating acids to address concerns such as uneven skin tone, superficial pigmentation, acne, and rough texture. Treatment selection depends on your skin type and condition.
Spicule-Based Skin Exfoliation
DÉCAAR Algae Peel uses sponge-derived spicules to stimulate superficial skin exfoliation. It may help improve the appearance of uneven texture, dullness, and certain post-acne marks.
These treatments are not necessarily performed together. Your provider will recommend suitable options and appropriate intervals based on your skin condition, treatment history, and recovery needs.

This stimulates the body’s natural repair response and supports collagen remodeling, which may improve the appearance of facial acne scars and uneven texture.
You may experience mild to moderate prickling, vibration, or pressure during treatment. Topical numbing cream may be applied beforehand to minimize discomfort. Sensitivity varies depending on the treatment area and individual tolerance.
Redness, warmth, mild swelling, and sensitivity are common after treatment and often improve within 24–72 hours. Some patients may experience dryness or flaking for several additional days. Recovery varies.
A series of 3–6 sessions, typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart, may be recommended. The number of treatments depends on your skin concerns, acne scar severity, and individual response.
Skin improvements develop gradually as collagen remodeling occurs over several weeks and months. Some patients notice changes in texture earlier, while acne scar improvements generally require multiple sessions. Results vary.
SkinPen® may be suitable for a wide range of skin tones, including darker complexions. However, temporary or persistent pigmentation changes are possible. Your provider will assess your skin and discuss potential risks before treatment.
Classic SkinPen® microneedling creates microchannels mechanically without radiofrequency energy. RF microneedling, such as VoluDerm™, combines microchannel formation with controlled RF heating and may be considered when mild skin laxity is also a concern.
Microneedling may be unsuitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, while taking certain medications such as isotretinoin, or when active infections, open wounds, or certain inflammatory skin conditions are present. Bleeding disorders and other medical conditions may also affect eligibility. A clinical assessment is required.
PRP may be considered as a complementary treatment following a clinical assessment. However, additional benefits are not guaranteed, and the safety and suitability of specific combination protocols must be evaluated by your provider.
SkinPen® microneedling at Parsa Wellness Clinic starts at $200 per session. Treatment pricing is $350 for Face, $450 for Face & Neck, $550 for Face, Neck & Chest, and $200 for Hands. Your provider will recommend an appropriate treatment plan based on your skin concerns.
